Cafe Dunne, Thursday 10 pm, the 1st party of the academic year organized by Pangea’s Party Committee!
“Amazing party! Especially the music was awesome ‘cause it was a good mix between new music, Dutch party music and older party classics”
The occasion for this party? The end of the 1st block period. At NHTV, the academic year is divided in 4 periods and at the end of each period there are exams. Having finished their exams, all students were super happy, not having to worry about studying. Everyone agreed that they had definitely deserved a drink!
“It was so much fun and so nice to meet the friends of students, and to get to know people from beyond the study environment”.
Students from the BSc Tourism and the BSc Leisure Studies were asked to bring friends from outside the study as a ‘buddy’ so they could get to know others and connect their student life with their life at home.
“There were a lot of people & it was a great chance to socialize with students you didn’t know yet”.
Everyone enjoyed meeting new people, some even coming from different countries! For the buddies it was also an amazing experience. For them Breda was totally new, giving them a chance to get to know Breda’s night life. Also, they mostly only knew one person… but at the end of the party, you couldn’t tell who was a ‘buddy’ and who was a students!
“Really cool to show your friends how much fun the people of your study are and to show them how you actually live here in Breda”.
The atmosphere at Café Dunne was ‘gezellig’ and ‘leuk’. There were plenty of drinks for good prices (!) and the music was a great mix of ‘modern charts and party classics’. That way it was easy for foreign students and buddies to sing along and get to know Dutch songs (which are better than one might think).
“Great night! WHOOP WHOOP!”
Around 1 am most traded Cafe Dunne for one of the many clubs in Breda like Shots, Walkabout or Peddels. Others went to eat as in the city centre there are a lot of food shops that are open until the middle of the night, adapting to the student life in Breda.
“A night to remember”.
Most people will not forget the Buddy Borrel as it is almost a tradition already! Hope to see you next year!
