Being a student is great, because the impulse of curiosity drives you to discover new things. But do you know what is better than just being a student? The answer is: being a student in an inspirational study environment, and that is something that study associations have! Pangea is the study association of the Bachelor of Science Tourism that aims to bring together the students of all the bachelor’s years by offering both study and non-study-related activities to its members. The association is divided into different committees that cover different tasks: the educational committee provides summaries for the courses and organizes study-related events, the marketing committee manages the social media channels of the Bachelor and helps with the open days, the party committee (as the name already suggests) is responsible for the parties that take place during the whole academic year and the sustainability committee has the aim to raise awareness about the need of a sustainable environment on and off campus. Other temporary committees are responsible for the introduction week, where the new first-year students can meet each other before the lectures and within party vibes, and for the NFP (National Field Project) and IFP (International Field Practicum), which are the research projects (respectively around the Netherlands and around Europe) where students can learn more about tourism and tourists. Pangea, founded in 2011, is still the vital link that connects the students of the programme as the supercontinent was doing many years ago!
