This morning we woke up early to go and have breakfast on the beach. As I walked out of the room I could immediately feel the difference in temperature – from our cool air-conditioned room to the sunny outdoors. I’m sure we will be missing this heat when we return to the Netherlands! After some breakfast with fruit shakes and toast we came back to the guesthouse to make a plan for the day. By this point the sky had turned grey and it started pouring. It didn’t worry us though as we have experienced that the rain doesn’t last long in Thailand. They are mostly heavy showers followed by sunshine.

Our guesthouse is located along the river which makes it tempting for us to dive in. However, the presence of about a thousand jellyfish prevented us from swimming in there. Luckily, our accommodation enables us to use some kayaks for free, so that’s what some of us did! The others took the time to relax after our group meeting. A perfect break before meeting our supervisors. The meeting with our supervisors was successful. In comparison to the previous meetings, we now felt ready to continue gathering data and making the presentation for the stakeholder meeting. Our group split up and went back to some of the stakeholders that we had already spoken to, to ask some last questions.

After this we felt it was time for a girls-night. With the five of us we sat in a row for pedicures… how exciting! We had a good laugh with the ladies at the beauty salon, who were very kind and attentive and even offered us a cup of tea and bananas! It’s still special to see how warm and friendly the people here are… They never hesitate to make you feel comfortable or to help you with something. Happy with our newly colored nails we took a long walk back to the guesthouse where we listened to music while typing up the notes from our interviews. Only 4 days left till the stakeholder meeting.. time is flying by! This whole trip feels like a rollercoaster; it goes by so quickly but we enjoy every moment of it!
